Varsity volleyball started off their season with a win at Elk Grove 26-24, 25-23 in an intense match. Sophomore Krysta B. is pictured crushing a ball to add to the lead. Girls Varsity Tennis: First doubles team Marie B. and Hana D. beat Fenton today during the first away game of the season. “It’s still the beginning of the season, so I have a lot to improve on, but I’m off to a good start,” sophomore Hana D. said.
Overall, the Maine West team won against Fenton 5-0.

Getting ready to serve dinner, Voice for the Nameless helps out at Inspiration Corporation. “This has changed from being a simple volunteer opportunity to an ongoing experience that has helped me be a better person, but more importantly, it makes people’s lives better,” senior Abdi Mustafa said.

The Taste of Des Plaines was held over the course of two days, Friday and Saturday in downtown Des Plaines. The festival featured free live music, different games, food from local restaurants, wine, and even a climbing wall. Many were able to enjoy their time listening to the live bands in the designated seated area, while others with children were provided a family area full of different games.
