MW Girls Soccer vs Wheeling

Junior Sarah Magnoni led the Warriors girls soccer team to a 2-0 record after their 6-1 victory over Wheeling last Thursday.

Magnoni was a key in the Wheeling game because she held the defense down and created opportunities for the Warriors moving down the field, in addition to scoring a goal of her own. According to junior center midfielder Maddie Roppel, Magnoni communicated with her teammates really well and directed them on the field. She took role of the captain in the game and led her team to the win.

The team needs “to find more feet and pass the ball rather than try to body through everyone,” Roppel said, thinking ahead to the Warriors’ next strategy when they are away against Ridgewood tomorrow.
