3-D Model w/ Tangible User Interface
This year, my 3-D Innovations Club is working on creating a 3-D model of our school.
We are planning on 3-D printing all of the base and walls with transparent filament and 3-D print a ceiling with electrically conductive filament to help us create a tangible user interface that is attached to a Raspberry Pi.
Using a capacitive touch sensor, the Raspberry Pi will be able to detect changes in capacitance (i.e. when someone touches a part of the ceiling) and we can program the Pi to light the relevant section of that building up. We can also use speakers to give directions to that area of the building (e.g. To go to the gym, please take a left, make your way up the ramp and walk till the end of the hallway).
This is a really exciting project that to be starting!
